Just ruined some fudge December 13, 2006 Reviewer:  Jennifer McNaney "Jennie" Real Name (Boone, NC United States)  See all my reviews >

Second time trying to use thermometer. The gauge was not solid at the top and never went above 220 degrees F. The result was that my fudge was overcooked. Even after putting the thermometer in the sink in cold water, it still registered 170.

Look elsewhere.

ICK - Beware this product MAY BE TOXIC July 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Happy With TGT "HWTGT" (Olympia)  See all my reviews >

I bought this product at s Target store in Lacey (think Olympia) WA.

I'm a fan of Food Network. This product is similar to that used/shown there. I used this product to deep fry some fish and some (potato) fries.
On both occasions, I cleaned this product with a paper towel.
When wiping with a paper towel, I noticed BLACK MARKINGS on my paper towel. These markings were from this product's temperature markings.

I returned this product on 14 Jul 08. I recommend that no one ever purchase this device.

Great For Candy Making December 15, 2006 Reviewer:  Texas Girl See all my reviews >

I have made over 20 batches of peanut brittle with this Thermometer and I have had great candy. My mother in law has this same thermometer and she uses it for all kinds of candy and all the candy has turned out wonderful.

TruTemp candy thermometer October 24, 2007 Reviewer:  Fort Bragg Family (Fayetteville, NC, USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought a similar kitchen thermometer from the same manufacturer and was very disappointed. The first time I used it, I heated milk to 185 degrees. I let the thermometer cool completely and then washed it with dish soap and a soft wash cloth. To my surprise, the numbers at the bottom of the thermometer rubbed off easily, leaving me to wonder how much paint had ended up in my homemade yogurt.
